The Far Right Divide and Conquer (DAC) Strategy: Dimming the Lights of DEI Initiatives
As I reflect on the intricate web of societal dynamics, I’m compelled to confront a troubling reality: the pervasive influence of a divide-and-conquer (DAC) strategy that seeks to consolidate power and privilege within a select aristocratic elite, while neglecting the plight of the middle-class community. This insidious approach, designed to perpetuate inequality and maintain the status quo, poses significant challenges to our collective pursuit of justice, equity, and inclusion.
The DAC strategy operates by amplifying divisions and exploiting differences among marginalized communities, pitting them against each other to distract from the underlying structures of oppression. It sows seeds of distrust and competition, fostering an environment where solidarity is scarce, and collective action is hindered.
In contrast, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives offer a counterpoint to the DAC strategy by promoting unity, solidarity, and collective action. DEI initiatives recognize the strength that lies in diversity and seek to create inclusive environments where all individuals are valued and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and talents.
