The Radical Power of Care: A Foundation for Equity and Transformation

Pivot Point: Today’s environment, especially for black women at the forefront of diversity, equity, and inclusion, can be challenging and mentally draining. In a world that often prioritizes speed, productivity, and individualism, care is a radical act. It is the quiet yet revolutionary force that disrupts systems of oppression, rebuilds trust in fractured communities, and centers humanity in every interaction. As a DEI practitioner and change agent, I have come to understand that care is not passive or secondary — it is the very foundation upon which equity, inclusion, and justice are built.
